2024-2025 hiring

We are currently welcoming applications for various full time and part time positions for the Fall of 2024-25. Candidates with classroom experience highly preferred, but it is not a requirement. Please send resume and cover letter to Corey Lloyd.

Primary Lead Teacher

We are looking for a Primary (3-6) Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Candidates should hold Children’s House/Primary certification from a MACTE-accredited training center or be willing to begin training before starting work. We are looking for individuals who will be committed to upholding Montessori techniques and philosophy while supporting colleagues and families with an emphasis on collaboration and support.  Punctuality and strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, as is a deep respect for children and our environment. We strive to create to a joyful, diverse, and peaceful school.

Salary starts between $33,000 and $37,000 for the Academic year based on experience and training. The Academic calendar runs from mid-August to early June with Summer contracted separately. Schedule M-F, 8-3. Benefits include health coverage, PTO, holiday pay, and Simple IRA.

Program Director: Full Time

Position Type: 12- month

Salary Range: $57,000- $63,000, based on experience and training

Shares Responsibilities with: Executive Director

Reports to: Montessori Education Trust (Board of Trustees)

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Program Director to work in shared leadership with our Executive Director. We are looking for individuals who will be committed to upholding Montessori philosophy and our school’s culture, while supporting colleagues and families with an emphasis on collaboration and support.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to make collaborative, child-centered school management decisions through a Montessori lens. We strive to create a joyful, diverse, and peaceful school environment.

Essential Duties 

  • Supporting Montessori Philosophy throughout the School

  • Oversight of the Montessori Program 

  • Hiring, training, and evaluation of Staff

  • Regular classroom observations and development of professional development for all staff

  • Outreach and communication with families

  • Daily responsibilities can include everything from plunging toilets, flipping circuit breakers, wiping tears (children and adults), finding lost mittens, pruning bushes, cleaning gutters, sweeping sidewalks, making coffee runs, changing the occasional diaper, sewing cot sheets, fluffing mulch, et cetera.

Education and Skills 

  • Montessori certification from a MACTE-accredited training center required

  • 2 years of leadership experience or a minimum of at least 5 years of classroom leadership experience

  • Non-profit experience is preferred, but not required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Solid leadership and organizational skills

  • A no-task-too-small attitude
