Cutler Lane - Butterfly Class (Toddlers)


Corey Lloyd

Corey has been with our school for so long we've all lost count of the years (actually it was 1994 when she arrived).  She took her Infant and Toddler training from The Center for Montessori Teacher Education in New York in 2002 and stepped into the role of head teacher of the Butterfly Room in 2004. She also has trained as a doula through The Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators and loves when she can fit birth work in and around the school schedule.


Chasity Seiler

Chasity joins us a parent and assistant in the Butterfly Room.  She recently worked at Mountaintop Montessori for almost 4 years until she had her son.  Chasity received her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies at Longwood University in 2012. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.

Vrinda Abhyankar

Vrinda was born and grew up in India. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education from SNDT University in Mumbai, India in 1998. She worked with COER (Center for Opportunities in Education and Rehabilitation) where she taught normally developing children as well as those with special needs under one roof (rare in India).  Vrinda joined the Rainbow Room in the fall of 2011.

Gloria Boesenberg

Gloria grew up in Indiana and received a B.A. in Psychology from Earlham College.  Besides working with children, she has also enjoyed working with the elderly as a nursing assistant and as a house parent for adults with developmental disabilities. Her passion has always been teaching.  Gloria joined our community as an assistant in 2014. She is now a lead teacher and proud MSC parent. In her free time, she spends time outside, reading, crafting, and especially loves being with her family. 



Deana Sackett 

Deana received a BS in Biology from Bates College in 1991 and a Master of Science degree in Cell Biology from Baylor College of Medicine in 1999. She came to our school as a parent and enjoyed watching her children grow in the Star Room with Miss Debbie. She joined our staff in 2005 and is currently teaching art to the kindergartners in the Star Room each week.

Becca Covert

Becca came to the school as a parent and joined our staff in 2004. She  worked as an assistant in our toddler class at Cutler Lane for many years.  Becca completed her AMS training in 2015 and moved into the lead position in the Moonbeam Room at Gordon Avenue. She loves to find time to sew and adores the beauty of Virginia. She has a degree in Psychology and Art from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. 


Angela Cullen 

Angela is currently a student at Liberty University. She recently moved back to the Charlottesville area from Radford, Va. While taking classes for a Marketing degree at Radford University, Angela realized her passion for people and children and chose a different path. She is now studying online to obtain a Business Management degree with a concentration in Human Resource as well as to complete her Child Development Associate degree. She joined us as an assistant in the afternoon program last year and is now the assistant in the Moonbeam Class.

Gordon Avenue - Dragonfly Class (Primary)


Stella Maris Perfetto 

Stella grew up in Brazil and moved to this country in the mid eighties.  She joined our staff in 2005. She received her AMS credential through Northeast Montessori Institute in 2007.  She co-teaches in the Dragonfly Class and has the leadership role in our afternoon program at Gordon Ave.  Stella is a volunteer at Women's Build with the Habitat for Humanity, a platelet donor at the Virginia Blood Bank, and a Master Gardener.  


Kim Shultz-Keyser

Kim was born and raised in Lancaster, Va.  She attended Virginia Tech before starting her family.  She has four amazing children, three dogs, a horse, and a home in Staunton, Va. She did her AMI Montessori training at the Washington Montessori Institute in DC., which has now moved to Maryland.  She first came to MSC in September of 1998 and worked in the Rainbow Room at Cutler Lane until 2010.  She worked at Mountaintop Montessori for 5 years before returning to MSC in 2016 to co-teach in the Dragonfly class.


Shipra Biswas

Shipra was born and raised in Bangladesh. She finished her BS (biology major) at the National University. Before moving to the US she worked as a lab tech in the department of Biochemistry and molecular genetics at the Kobe University School of Medicine in Japan. She taught Bangladesh culture and history to Japanese elementary students. After moving to the USA she worked at the Child Development Center at UVA. She completed here Child Development Associate courses while working at CDC. She joined our staff in 2012 as an assistant in the Dragonfly Class.


Sasmita Meher

Sasmita was born and grew up in India. She received her Master of Philosophy degree in Education from Sambalpur University, Orissa, India. She had been a substitute teacher in this school since 2013 and joined the Dragonfly Class as an assistant teacher in January 2017.


Ann Friend Clark 

Ann was born in Charlottesville and grew up a dairy farm on a Civil War battlefield in Culpeper. Her parents and grandparents who owned the farm were all four artists. She went to Rhode Island School of Design and studied Montessori through her church which uses religious Montessori methods and lessons. Ann attends Art Classes part time at UVa in the Art and Architecture Departments. She loves to hike with friends and play with her three cats as well as do painting and drawing in her sketchbook. She also loves to go to movies and writing poetry.

Kelsy Minnick

Kelsy is from Louisa and graduated from University of Mary Washington in May with a degree in Psychology.  She interned in a Montessori school in Fredericksburg, which sparked her interest in working at our school.  In her spare time she enjoys sports and volunteering with children.  Kelsy works during nap in the Dragonfly class and spends the late day with the Toddlers.


Ja'Dana Ellcock-Crayton 

Ja'Dana is from Cambridge, MA. She is a second-year student at the University of Virginia. Ja'Dana is studying psychology and sociology, with the hopes of going to graduate school to become a clinical psychologist. Over the summer of 2017, she interned with Doc Wayne Youth Services back home in Boston, MA. Doc Wayne Youth Services provides psychological services infused with sports for children ages 5-18. Ja'Dana has been working with children since she was 13 years old and loves it, which is what sparked her interest in working as an assistant teacher in our afternoon program.



Parames Adie 

Parames was born in Malaysia and attended Providence College in South India. She took her Montessori Teacher’s training in Ahmedabad, India. During a trip to San Francisco Parames was hired to start a class at the Binet Montessori School. Parames joined our school in 1986 and became the Program Director in 1990. In her time away from school  Parames teaches Yoga classes and Indian cooking classes. She is a NAMI group facilitator and member of the local board, envisioning a world free of stigma where all people with mental illness get the help, hope and support they need.


Lindsey Munson 

Lindsey grew up in Staunton, VA. She graduated from UVA with a degree in Sociology in 1979. Lindsey came to the school as a parent of Caitlin and Jake in 1987 and worked with the original owner of the school.  She became the Administrator of the school in 1990.  She serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in foster care in the community. Lindsey loves to travel and spending time with her parents in Staunton as they "age with grace".  She became a grandparent for the first time this summer and will travel to Boston as often as possible to visit Caitlin, Sam and Amelia.



Soren Jones

Soren is a native of Blacksburg VA. He moved to Charlottesville with his partner Emily and son Lio from California. He received a BA in History from UC Berkeley with a focus on Archaic and Classical Greece. While in Berkeley he worked for an elementary school aftercare program with K-5 students. During the summers he went on research trips including an ethnographic study of Appalachian folk music and an Archaeological excavation of Mycenaean tombs in the Peloponnese. Soren started as our Administrative Assistant in September 2017 and is excited to be part of the MSC community!
